Big changes are coming to Alien Worlds, and they’re set to revolutionize how explorers interact with the planetary ecosystem. Enter the Union DAOs — a new governance structure that promises to give explorers unprecedented power to influence the direction of their chosen planets. This marks a significant evolution from the existing system, where proposals were handled only by Custodians. Now, the broader community can participate directly in funding and shaping the metaverse.

The six Union DAOs, each representing the planets of Eyeke, Kavian, Magor, Veles, Neri, and Naron, will provide explorers with more freedom to collaborate, innovate, and contribute to their planetary communities. It’s a move that caters to the desires of the Alien Worlds community to have a more decentralized, inclusive decision-making process.

What Are Union DAOs?

For those unfamiliar, a DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization) is a digital organization governed by smart contracts and the community’s collective voting power. In Alien Worlds, each planet’s Union DAO will function as a worker-driven organization that empowers non-Custodian explorers to create and vote on proposals. In essence, Union DAOs turn governance over to the people. Whether it’s funding new projects or distributing resources, the explorers will now have a direct hand in shaping their planets’ futures.

This opens up exciting opportunities for anyone looking to leave their mark on the Alien Worlds universe. But, there’s more to this than just submitting a proposal. To fuel these DAOs and ensure their successful activation, the Federation has announced a staking contest — an essential step in making the Union DAOs operational.

The Staking Contest: A Call to Action

From September 30th, explorers have the chance to stake their Trilium (TLM) and unlock the power of Union DAOs. Staking Trilium isn’t just about earning rewards; it’s about taking part in this new chapter of governance. The process is simple: the more Trilium you stake, the more influence you have and the larger the rewards you can earn.

Here’s how it works:

  • Base Pool: Stake at least 500 TLM, and you’ll earn an equal share of the base reward pool once the staking target of 15 million TLM is reached.
  • Tier 1 Pool: Stake 1,000 TLM or more, and you’ll access additional rewards, once the total staking across the planets hits 20 million.
  • Tier 2 Pool: Stake 2,000 TLM or more, and gain access to the highest reward tier, activated at 25 million staked TLM.

Each planet’s staking target is tied to its respective reward pool, and the total prize pool sits at 50,000 TLM, to be distributed among explorers who help meet these targets.

The Bigger Picture: Empowering the Community

The launch of Union DAOs is more than just a staking contest or reward mechanism — it’s a signal that Alien Worlds is doubling down on decentralization and empowering its players. By involving the community more directly in decision-making and funding, the platform ensures that the metaverse evolves in a way that reflects the diverse needs and aspirations of its explorers.

This worker-centered approach shifts control from a small group of Custodians to the wider community. As proposals are funded by newly discovered deposits of Trilium in deep space, the possibilities are endless. And with the Robotron miners on hand to secure these resources, Union DAOs are just the beginning of what’s possible for the Alien Worlds ecosystem.

So, what are you waiting for? Stake your Trilium, take part in shaping the future, and secure your share of the rewards as you help activate the Union DAOs. It’s time to make your voice heard in this new cooperative journey of Alien Worlds.
